I didn’t get huge results on this one (perhaps interest in answering my polls is waning), but I was pleased with getting some results anyway. It looks like my friends believe that their child should take music lessons to at least try them out, or if their child expresses an interest. Personally, I think each child should try them out (they may discover they have a hidden interest!), but I also think the same should be done for sports.

The results are in! I am a little surprised, as I honestly don’t like most piano pop covers, but as one of my followers pointed out, “Instrumental arrangements offer a whole different type of artistry.”
After discussing it a bit with my boyfriend, we concluded I don’t generally like piano covers for two reasons: 1. the melody is already boring and sounds terrible when it’s put on one instrument, and 2. some of the important accompaniment features get lost. However, in this piano cover, none of the accompaniment is lost to preserve the melody, because there are two pianists:
Katy Perry’s “E.T.” is a prime offender of the first reason, and the pianist in this video does a great job of making an interesting piano cover. (Don’t get me wrong; I love the song, I just don’t think most people can make a decent piano-only cover of it.)
I posted my third question today. I actually assumed Classical music would be further down, but so far, it looks like it’s a very popular genre! Check out the results here.
(Note: church hymns may be lagging behind because I added it at first and then it disappeared, so I just re-added it – about 12 voters will have missed it.)
